I know that HP EliteBook 8560w/8570w supports SATA III capable chipset. But this particular chipset has SATA III and SATA II capable channels.
I wonder which channel has HP used to connect the hard disk?
The thing is that I'm considering this notebook and I already have a new Samsung 830 256GB SSD that would be used to its maximum potential only on a SATA III channel.
I've run Samsung Magician and in indeed it improved the situation quite drastically. It ran SSD optimization as well as optimized OS for speed (disabling some services) and here are the same tests as above but with quite different results. Especially the 4k performance and access times are now enormously improved. Samsung Magician apparently has a suitable name. :)
I've also added the over provisioning option although haven't tested without it.
as AS SSD's results show similar increase in performance.
Your motherboard only supports SATA II.
You can find this out by doing a simple Google Search for the motherboard and following the link to the specification page on the ASUS website. It ways you have "6 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s)" and SATA 3Gb/s is SATA II. (SATA differences)

The manual doesn't say anything about supported SATA speeds... As per the posts in the owners lounge here
