Google Talk – How to Start a Group Chat in Google Talk Client

Google created the new Google Hangout, that replaces also Google Talk, and seems that XMPP support has been removed.

But there's a partial solution: enable access to Gmail from "less secure apps" and Pidgin will connect to it.

I can't find the google settings for less secure apps in my google account.

When signed in to your account, go to My Account, and in the "Sign-in & Security" column, go to Connected Apps & Sites. Third option down on the right is a toggle for allowing less secure apps.
