Is there a way to empty SkyDrive/OneDrive without deleting the files in the cloud.
I'm running Windows 8.1 and would like to revert all of the files to "online-only" mode except that the function doesn't work. I'd like to completely restart the sync process but not lose any files.
Messing with sync could lead to disaster IMO. I currently use password-protected section this way which I think can be applied to BoxCryptor too:

[[account number & password]] <-- link to a notebook section called 'Encrypted'
The idea is: most of your notes are probably not sensitive data. The notebook section called 'Encrypted' keeps all the sensitive data from various notebooks. Then I password-protect that section. This way most (non-sensitive) notes are searchable without me typing the password each time, you only type the password when you need to access sensitive information.
To apply this to BoxCryptor, you could encrypt only ONE notebook which contains the sensitive data. While your other notebooks are sync'd using normal OneNote protocol. This way you can run OneNote on multiple computers at the same time too.

I would advise running the OneDrive Troubleshooter first. You can download that from here.
If you are still having issues or would still like to perform a reset then you can issue a set of commands in an elevated command prompt. SkyDrive.exe exists in the system32 folder (Don't worry about the name; It's still SkyDrive even if you're using OneDrive included in the 8.1 Update 1)
SkyDrive /shutdownSkyDrive /resetSkyDrivePlease bear in mind that none of these steps will affect your files but should resolve the sync functionality you're having issues with.
