I'm not very experienced with After Effects and I was wondering if there's a built in option or a feasible workaround for text with no aliasing (think pixel art).
I know this can be easily be done in Photoshop, so one option is to prepare text there, flatten the content, then bring the pixels over to After Effects.
What would be the cleaner/more efficient way to achieving sharp pixel looking text in After Effects ?
Japanese text … does not appear anti-aliased in my browser
Windows doesn't anti-alias fonts below a certain size - I believe this is font specific. Try a different font or try increasing the text size (Ctrl++ in many browsers)

There is no sensible way to achieve this. Your website might be viewed by PCs running a variety of different operating systems with a variety of browsers. Consider phones, pads, tablets, netbooks, TVs and other hardware platforms.
You could pre-render the text as graphics images but this is troublesome to achieve in a way that is readable on both phones and dual-24" screens. It also means your text won't get indexed by search engines and so is likely to rank lower in searches.
Your could use Flash but many of the same disadvantages apply. Not all platforms support Flash and some people disable it.
This error means, that the program tries to load a DLL with the wrong CPU architecture (32/64Bit).

Use Depends.exe to analyze the Adobe After Effects start and look which DLL is causing it.

In After Effects you can use the Mosaic effect (Effect > Stylize > Mosaic) to make the text borders more or less jagged or you can use Sharpen (Effect > Blur & Sharpen) to clean the text from aliasing.
You can also change the text layer quality from Best to Draft, clicking the / symbol in the Timeline. In this case, when exporting, you have to set the quality to Current in the Render Setting panel or the text will be aliased again.
