Windows Terminal Preview – Open in File Explorer

As most of you know, it is possible to open a new Command Line in the current folder from the file explorer. For this you have to write 'cmd' in the folder path.

Is there a way to do this with the new Windows Terminal (Preview) yet? As this is currently my preferred shell.

Simply type in wt in the address bar and it will open the command prompt with the path to your current folder already set. Make sure that your settings do not overwrite startingDirectory.

Like this:

explorer .

The period being used to represent the current folder. Single one meaning this folder, Two of them, being the next folder up the hierarchy.

If at C:\Users\Bonzo...

explorer .

Opens up the folder C:\Users\Bonzo

explorer ..

Opens up the folder C:\Users, and

explorer ..\..

Opens up C:\

The dots work also with the cd command and pretty much anywhere else you need to specify locations.

Hold Shift + Right Click the folder you want it opened on, and click "open command window here". That should do the trick!

You can also type cmd into the Windows File Explorer address bar (use Ctrl+L to focus the address bar) and press Enter to open the shell.
