In Google Chrome / Mozilla Firefox I can open an image under the mouse pointer in new tab using context menu. The menu contains "Open image in new tab" or "View Image" command for this.
How can I open an image in new tab in Edge browser?

When you right-click an image on a website while using Edge, a window appears, giving you a few different options: Ask Cortana, Save Picture As, Share Picture, Select All, and Copy.
Click Copy and open a new tab, then right-click in the address bar and choose Paste and Go in the window that appears.
This will paste the image URL into the address bar or the new tab and open the image directly. Otherwise, you can choose Paste and then press enter - the result is the same.
The issue of specifying a URL when opening a new tab in the Edge browser is currently being addressed by Microsoft. There is a "work-around" solution available. Follow these steps:
In the Edge browser, navigate to Settings > View Advanced Settings (located at the bottom of the Settings pane)
Turn on Show the home button
Enter the URL you wish the Home button to navigate to
Now simply select the home button after you have opened a new tab to navigate to the desired site.
Go to Extensions in the Edge settings (...) and search for "Tab Activate". Works like a charm.
But one has to question the whole Edge product if they can't figure out that when a person opens a new page, it is more likely than not that they would want to see that page.
And the fact that a new tab page always shows Bing? How messed up is that? There is an extension "New Google Tab" that opens Google instead and some other extensions that supposedly allow you to customize what page opens.
I have read reviews that Edge is better than Chrome but so far not impressed.
