I use a multiple-monitor setup on Windows XP. I would like to be able to move the active window from one monitor to the other with a keyboard shortcut.
I know that I can use Alt+Space, M, or drag the window with the mouse. But is it possible to do this with a single keyboard shortcut?
Since Windows 7 this function has been provided by the OS.
Win + Shift + ► : Move focused window right a screen.
Win + Shift + ◄ : Move focused window left a screen.
These functions will wrap around, thus if you only have two screens you'll not notice a difference between both functions.
It is possible for free. Swap Screen is very simple program to do that. You have to define other shortcut than win+d, but I still find it convinient enough. For example I bound alt+1 to show desktop 1, alt+2 to show desktop 2.
Additionally, this program have some other neat features. One that I find myself using daily is function to move windows to another monitor with a shortcut, then there are sticky cursor and plenty other features.
