I'm using the Gane-Sarson shapes set in Microsoft Visio 2007 to create a data flow diagram. I am trying to find a double sided arrow, but the Data Flow shape in the Gane-Sarson set only shows one sided arrows.
When I search shapes for "arrow", I get a whole bunch, including the plain "arrow" shape, and when I resize it, it looks pretty ugly and it doesn't snap with the process shapes in my data flow diagram. Is there another substitute I can use in this program?
Tools -> Options -> General -> Drawing Window There is a check box there called enable autoconnect. Uncheck it.
With regard to the one right angle allowed, just change the connector style right clicking on the connector, and changing the style to curved.
Edit: If you are actually talking about lines, and would just like a visio 2007 way to do what the answer did in visio 2010, go to Tool -> Snap and Glue -> General -> Currently Active uncheck snap.
Firstly, with very tight shapes, the way to deal with this is to zoom in to the diagram. Use the zoom control in the bottom right (see pic below), or use press CTRL and scroll the wheel up (zoom in) or down (zoom out).

To disable the snap effect, disable one or both Snap and Glue. This configuration is available from the View tab: click the the pop-out icon, then disable one or both Snap and Glue is the resulting dialog:

Found the "Universal Connector" which works great for me.
