Windows – How to Quickly Copy Filename in Windows

Open the Control Panel, and click 'Classic View' on the left sidebar.

Open 'Folder Options'

Click the 'View' tab and scroll down to 'Managing pairs of Web pages and folders'

Choose 'Show and manage the pair as a single file' Now Explorer will only show page.htm and treat both the file and the folder as one file.

Or, choose 'Show both parts and manage them individually' and Explorer will treat them as plain old page.htm and page_files.

Hello from the year 2020.

I found out that it is a Google Drive sync issue (the product was renamed to “Backup and Sync from Google” meanwhile).

You can test it yourself:

1. Click on the Google Drive icon (in the system tray), hit the tree dots and select "Pause".
2. Go to Windows Explorer and rename the files.

You will see that the file renaming bug is not happening anymore.
