I have a wifi extender, which I'm supposed to access by typing www.miwifiext.net into the address bar.
However, every time I do this, google chrome immediately mistakes it for some kind of search and sends me to another site. http://ww42.miwifiext.net/?kw=emotional+sms
The site will let me look up information on wifi extenders. Great. But I want to change the settings on the wifi extender I have. I can't access them.
How do I get chrome to simply accept the address I've given it?
No bloated extensions necessary. Simply add a new Search engine in Chrome options:
Chrome Settings > Basic > Search > Manage Search Engines
That will allow you to easily search your bookmarks by simply pressing b then a SPACE or TAB.

Manage search enginesin the "Search" section.
- Remove a search engine: Select the search engine from the list and click the x that appears at the end of the row.
- Add a search engine: Scroll to the bottom of the dialog and fill out the following fields:
- Add a new search engine: Enter a nickname for the search engine.
- Keyword: Enter the text shortcut you want to use for the search engine. Use the keyword to do keyword searches.
- URL: Enter the web address for the search engine.
- Edit a search engine: Select the search engine from the list and click the field you want to modify.
- Make a search engine default: Select the search engine you want to use as your default search engine and click the
Make defaultbutton that appears in the row.
Of particular interest is the keyword. Try editing the Amazon search, and taking a look in there. If you don't need the Amazon search, just deleting it would work too.

If you begin your entry with the protocol, such as
http://then Chrome will look up the site listed rather than try it as a query.Note that if it fails, Chrome may then still try to query the address instead.
That is to say, enter
http://site.domain/addressrather thansite.domain/addressin the location bar.
