Our internet connection at the office went down for a bit yesterday, and now Chrome can't find youtube.com. I get the ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error, even though the site loads perfectly fine in other browsers, and I can access other Google sites. I've tried clearing cookies, dumping cache, releasing and renewing ipconfig, everything I can think of, to no avail. What other options are there to try. I'm running Windows 8.1.

I managed to dig a bit further, and found the following entries in the system.log:

Turns out, these errors were being logged by the CISCO AnyConnect application.
I no longer use this application, so have removed it, and it appears (so far) that the issue has been resolved.
If I still needed to use this application, it is possible to disable the Web Security filtering:

The service password used in this procedure is configured in the Authentication panel of the Web Security profile editor.
Step 1 Launch the Terminal application.
Step 2 Change to the /opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin folder.
Step 3 Disable or enable filtering:
To enable filtering, enter acwebsecagent -enablesvc
To disable filtering, enter acwebsecagent -disablesvc -servicepassword

A less extreme way to clear the DNS cache (a potential source of this issue) is to go the
chrome://net-internals/#dnspage in Chrome and then click the "Clear host cache" button. This will clear the cache in Chrome and hopefully fix your issue.
