After the version 68 update a couple weeks ago, my console in Devtools no longer clears after refreshing the page. Here are the console settings:
So unless I'm misunderstanding something, the console should be cleared upon refreshing the page, or navigating somewhere.
This was working fine until the version 68 update. (which broke the feature immediately, I noticed within a couple minutes since I use this console quite a bit)
Any reason that it wouldn't be clearing?
Nowadays Chrome has an exclusion mechanism in its filter box:
-net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT
This removes all console errors that block access to network resources. These errors are usually caused by ad blockers and similar scripts. But watch out, this can also be caused by service workers on your own site.
As a more thorough solution, you might want to block the output generated by all extensions. This also leaves less chance for false positives.
Located at the top-right corner of the console there's a cog wheel to manage console settings. The option Selected context only ignores all of the nested browser extension contexts. Below some example screenshots.

For me it helped to only enable current context in devtools.
Caveat: It is not sticky. You have to reset it every time you open DevTools.
Caveat: API calls to other domains won't show any errors as they belong to a different context.

Turns out the issue was an extention: "adBlocker Plus". I'm surprised I couldn't find many complaints about this issue.
I tested it about a dozen times. Disabling the extention fixes the problem.
I've had too many issues with AdBlock Plus in the past, so I'm switching to uBlock going forward. The same custom filters work, and it actually runs a little faster, too. :D
