When going to a new webpage in Chrome, the screen will flash white before the website is loaded. This is annoying as I have a lot of websites set to use dark themes with Stylish and the transition is like a blinding flashbang. Is there any way to disable it or change the flash to black?
I have tried these solutions and they did not work for me:

On my box (ubuntu 12+) custom css is possible:
~/.config/chromium/Default/User\ StyleSheets/Custom.css
As for now, it's not (yet) possible for chrome://newtab/ , see http://developer.chrome.com/extensions/override.html for more information.

You could theme your Chrome internal pages by utilizing the user stylesheet found at:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\User StyleSheets\Custom.css
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/User StyleSheets/Custom.css
~/.config/chromium/Default/User StyleSheets/Custom.css
If it doesn't exist yet, create it.
If you simply put the following CSS into it:
#card-slider-frame {
background : black;
color : white !important;
}
Your New Tab page will look more like this:
I also found the suggestion to create an extension that controls the theme of the new tab page. This might be more reliable, as the Custom.css styles are applied to all internal and external pages.

If this just recently started, you might try uninstalling Chrome, deleting the Google folder in Program Files(x86) and reinstall Chrome. This usually will fix issues like that.
