Chrome – Exporting Speed Dial settings from within Firefox into Chrome Speed dial

I usually use Firefox as my browser of choice and have been using the Addin Speed Dial for ages. I have many sites added on multiple tabs within it.

I have just installed the Google Chrome browser which also has the Speed Dial Extension. Is there a way to export/import/copy/sync my Speed Dial settings I have in Firefox to the Speed Dial extension in Chrome?

I know I can export from Speed Dial in Firefox but can't see any easy way to import from Speed Dial in Chrome.

Looks like Speed Dial for firefox and Speed Dial for chrome are made by two different developers. The Firefox version allows you to import\export data but the Chrome version has no such options.

In Firefox Tools >> Add-ons >> Speed Dial Options >> Actions there are options to import, export, restore from backup, etc.

In Chrome going to Extension >> Speed Dial Options it only allows you to make cosmetic changes to the start page (spacing, theme, etc).

So currently it doesn't look possible.

The Simplest, Fastest & Bug-free Way:

Install Xmarks add-ons in both browsers for Bookmarks sync. After first sync, uninstall it if you no longer wish to keep bookmarks in sync with both browsers.
Install LastPass for passwords sync. Its not exact sync between browsers. It simply imports all non-secure passwords (what browsers store) to its own encrypted container (and, cloud), then you can use it universally on any browser, OS and computer. If you want pure export in which passwords should be handled by Firefox, export passwords to Firefox after import. Then, you can uninstall LastPass if you wish.

You can view Certificate contents in Firefox
(Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Encryption -> View Certs -> Yours/Authority/etc -> <cert> -> View -> Details -> Certificate Fields -> Public Key)

If you can export to PEM, you can convert that to PKCS12

Note that whilst a PEM file can contain both private key and a certificate, the private key isn't part of the X.509 certificate.

If the PEM exported by FF lacks the BEGIN and END markers around the Base64 encoded data, OpenSSL can't read the PEM file.

Here's CA certificate I exported from Firefox (*viewed in e.g. notepad)

I can view that OK using openssl x509 -in ff.crt -noout -text (I cut & pasted from Windows to Linux but you can install openssl on Windows too)
