When I try to run SFC /SCAN NOW in the command line window, it states "windows resource protection could not run/start the repair service". How can I fix this?
I tried running the system restore, with no success.
Is it possible that a keylogger is installed in my computer? How do I get rid of this?
The following two commands will allow write access to the Servicing folder:
takeown /f c:\windows\servicing
icacls c:\windows\servicing /grant administrators:F
Once that is done TrustedInstaller.exe can be copied from another Windows 7 x64 system, and the Trusted Installer service started.
That article is pure nonsense. icacls works on object.
The command icacls "C:\demo\example" does nothing else than
display the permissions currently set on the folder.
For example:
This means that the command ICACLS C:\Windows\winsxs does nothing that needs
a reboot.
On another note, the folder C:\Windows\winsxs is an essential Windows folder
and should absolutely not be touched as regarding permissions.
Changing the permissions on this folder can cause serious problems in the future.
Conclusion: Better ignore that article (or at least that part of it).

Open the Services MMC Snapin (
services.msc) and look for a service calledWindows Modules Installerand make sure the service is started.If you use a 64Bit Windows, make sure you run the 64Bit cmd.exe and not the 32Bit one.
