SQL Server Management Studio 18 – Finding SQLServerManager and Configuration Manager

I need to install SQL Server Configuration Manager in order to configure SQL Aliases, but I don't want to install whole SQL Server

I expected it to be installed with SSMS, but I'm unable to find anything on disk with name SQLServerManager

How can I get it as easily(without installing heavy components) as possible?

I downloaded SQL Server year Dev (generally not minimal, Express version) which had a lot of features to choose from, so I was able to install thing called Client Tools Connectivity which allowed me to open SQL Server Configuration Manager

Most settings that can't be done via sp_configure are registry based

So, you can use xp_instance_regread etc to change them. You'll have to find a list of registry keys yourself sorry but most are under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server

One examples , protocols is under

...(instancename)\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Tcp
...(instancename)\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Sm
...

and each of these has an Enabled value

One important note: you can stop SQL Server from xp_cmdshell or using SHUTDOWN but not start it of course...

You have just downloaded the Management Studio, which is nothing else as an IDE. It seems to me, that you haven't downloaded/installed the SQL Server itself.

You can download it right here. On the website, just hit the download button and check the SQL Server, which is called something like SQLEXPR_x64... or if you running a 32 bit system SQLEXPR_x86....

For those who haven't SSMS downloaded, you can check SSMS on the same download page too and it will be downloaded with the server.
