Oracle 10g – How to prevent one user from hogging all resources

I am wondering if there is any way to limit how much resources one user can take on my Oracle system. I want to limit some queries and systems from being able to hog all system resources when they run non optimized queries.

Data Pump export/import is what you're looking for. You can use this to export your schema definitions and load them into the target database, specifying which type of objects you require.

You can select specific types of objects using the INCLUDE parameter, so to just export tables you would:

expdp include=table ...

Provided you run the export/import as a user with sufficient privileges, this will also create the users on the target when you import.

Your table is owned by USERGOD, but you are importing as DIGITALNOISE. Yes, you have the IMPORT FULL DATABASE, but you are not doing a full import.

Using FROMUSER/TOUSER is one solution. Performing a full import by adding the FULL=Y option is another.
