Oracle – Fixing ASMCA GUI Rendering Issues

Hi Gurus,

While running ASMCA utility on OEL 7.5, Oracle is not able to render the GUI of the tool. I clicked on exit button and next screen comes as a vertical line (Screen attached above).No option there to expand the window.

Have ever anyone come across this type of issue? Please let me know if you have solution for this.

Any help is appreciated.

This happens because of color display setting of Linux GNOME desktop. I used Xming Software on windows for remote installation.It worked.

Finally I found the solution: I didn't change permission to be owned by the oracle user and oinstall group for the database dir in which the Oracle software is. I think there are some scripts or programs related to listener and the oracle user could not run it.

Backup files not found in ASM

Oracle will write all the datafiles and such to your DATA directory. You actually have to create a backup in the +flash_recovery_area you have created. What sort of backup are you trying to create?

What command are you using to create your backup?

For instance, if you wanted to execute a Level 0 IMAGE COPY, you could issue the following command:

backup incremental level 0 as copy database tag 'L0_COPY';
