I have access to iTunes Connect with my Apple ID, but when I'm trying to sign in with the same Apple ID in iBooks Author it shows the following error:
This Apple ID isn't associated with an iTunes Connect account.
I'm unable to understand the cause. Is it an issue with iBooks Author?
There is a way more simple way to do this... I'm using iBooks Author 2.0 it has a "Paste and Retain Styles" option that works like a charm.
I edit the code snippets in Xcode then select and copy the section I want:
Then control click where I want to paste it into my book:
Done! The snippet is included with syntax highlighting:

Take time to set up Xcode to use the font you want so you don't have to fiddle with it once the code is pasted into iBooks Author:
Pro Tip 2: Here are some other useful settings for your code snippet paragraphs, keep the lines together and disable auto-hyphenation.

again I solved my own problem... error was related to some weirdo ACL problem of the keychain directory/files in ~/Library/Keychains . I got the hint from console showing
"*ERROR:password_store_mac.cc(263)] Keychain data load failed: 100013*"
when starting Chrome and this error ID is related to permissions.
Chmod -RN
did the trick. Takeaway: Don't use finder to manipulate permissions. ;-)
