movquicktime
My QuickTime doesnt want to play a .mov file. I tried to convert .mov to .mp4 format using cloud convert but it gave error message:
Converter error: oov atom not found . PCO11_059_RM.mov: Invalid data found when processing input.
I've got the latest OS X software, 10.11 El Capitan, which I'm assuming would give me the latest QuickTime Player. Any clues?
Sorry, still too low to post comment. Are we talking QuickTime Player X or QuickTime Player 7? (very different .sdefs)
Also, can you post the script content leading up tosave first document in target_path as ".m4v"? (tell blocks can be important, as well as knowing what value type target_path is, etc.)
I recommend using the free app HandBrake to re-encode the movie, which will hopefully fix the problem.
Open HandBrake and it will automatically ask you to select a source (otherwise, you can use the Source toolbar item). Select the problematic movie and click Open.
Make sure the Presets panel is visible by clicking the Toggle Presets toolbar item. Then, under Apple, select the Universal preset.
The default settings should be fine, but you can tweak them if you like.
Click the Start toolbar item to begin. HandBrake will chug away and re-encode the file. That's likely to fix any problems with the encoding.

Try VLC
Try playing the file using VLC. VLC tends to be able to play files and formats that do not work in QuickTime Player on the latest OS X.
Re-encode using VLC or Handbrake
If VLC works, then you can use VLC itself or a tool like Handbrake to re-encode the file to a format that works in QuickTime Player.

movfile. What do you see in the More Info: section? As an example, in the screenshot below the movie is really a collection of photos with cross fades.
