If I quit Parallels when there are virtual machines running, then these machines are automatically started the next time I start Parallels.
Is there any way to make sure that Parallels never automatically start any VM at startup?
I have already set the "Start Automatically" setting set to "Never" for all my VMs. (Its under "Virtual Machine > Configure…", and then "Options > Startup and Shutdown"). But this is not helping.
I'm using Parallels Desktop 9 (Build 9.0.24251).
You don't have the Lion compatible version of Parallels installed! The current version is 6.0.12094.
You can download the latest version from Parallel's download page or use Check for Updates... in Parallels Desktop menu.
As the comments have suggested, Parallels does not support Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 directly.

However, the VMware knowledge-base does list a pair of patches from Microsoft (x86 patch and x64 patch) that remove the requirement for the hardware virtualisation on XP mode which should allow Parallels to also run the XP mode.
