I am searching the Unicode character ⏻ in Apple's character table. I cannot find it, even though it has been introduced in Unicode 9. I seached the whole unicode tables on the mac.
The character looks like the power button on the Mac. When I copy it from the web, it is being replaced by a question mark.
Any ideas on how to use this? I thought unicode was accessible on all devices.
In Character Viewer, click the gear icon in the top-left, then select "Customize List".
In the dialog that appears, scroll to the bottom and check "Unicode" under the "Code Tables" branch.
You should see something like this if you click on the "Unicode" item that's now in the left-hand pane (with unicode hex values down the left-hand column):
Alternatively, you can also right-click the character and select "Copy Character Info".
Then, if you paste into a text editor you get:

LATIN CAPITAL LETTER A
Unicode: U+0041, UTF-8: 41

You may need to deactivate some other font if that has an interfering character -- I had one called PT on my machine.

To use any unicode character not provided by Apple in MacOS/iOS, you just have to install a font which does include it. This page gives you a couple.
