I forward a lot of emails to Evernote and Nozbe (similar to OmniFocus) as I work to get my inbox to zero. When I am on my iPhone, I move emails to folders (Evernote, Nozbe, or Archives) depending on how I want to process them.

When I get back to the office, I forward those emails one at a time. There has to be a way to automate this so that when my Mac discovers, for example, that there is an email in the Evernote folder, it just forwards it to my unique Evernote email address.

I am a novice at scripting and I don't know how to make this work. I tried using Apple Mail rules, but I don't see where I can identify emails based upon the folder they are in. Automator doesn't have a service for forwarding emails in Apple Mail (though I see they have one for Outlook).

Any ideas? I'd toast a cold one in honor of someone who would help a brother out. 😉

So bmike got me rethinking my question, and I found a slightly different solution to the problem: Automatically forward "Starred in Gmail" messages to OmniFocus

In this case, I just set a gmail script that, when I flag an email (or "star" on gmail), it forwards the email to a specific address, and then unflags the email. Not exactly what I set out to do, but a solution nonetheless.

The only caveat is that my labels idea would be able to forward emails to different special email accounts (you could have one for omnifocus, one for Evernote, etc.), but if I'm going to be picky, I should learn to code, right?

Judging from your description of the issue, it seems that Lion’s Mail.app has difficulties correctly executing a move AppleScript action on a PO3 server (or maybe just your POP3 server – not having a POP server to test myself, I cannot check). A solution could be to separate the two components of the move operation by replacing the line

move eachMessage to mailbox "Archived/BTR Monitoring Emails"

with

copy eachMessage to mailbox "Archived/BTR Monitoring Emails"
delete eachMessage

in the hope that an express deletion command will fare better. If that doesn’t alleviate the issue (because the deletions suffer from the same issue – I can’t say for sure from your question), you could also try setting the delete status of the message instead of sending it a delete command, i.e.

copy eachMessage to mailbox "Archived/BTR Monitoring Emails"
set deleted status of eachMessage to true

though I’m not entirely sure how that will go down within a POP server (it sounds like something designated for IMAP).

Finally, you could try commenting out the set read status of eachMessage to true lines in the filing and deletion blocks – this should, by rights, not affect the server, as POP3 has no notion of a “read status” (you need IMAP to store that server side), but it might conceivably be an issue if Mail’s AppleScript thinks otherwise. Setting the message status to read can also be achieved within a rule without resorting to AppleScript, so removing this from the script should be a non-issue.

Since anyone can fake the From field, the use of junk or Rule filter has become uselles.

So I have tentatively solved my issue with a
