MacOS – Yosemite Upgrade changed numeric keypad “Enter” key to issue “^[33OM”

On Mavericks and previous, the "ENTER" key on the numeric keypad mimicked the "ENTER" key on the main keyboard. I can't find a way to map this back to working like an "ENTER" key again. Where this is showing up is while using the Terminal app in xterm emulation. It is only a problem in Terminal. I am using a full size Logitech Illuminated K740 keyboard.

Any clues would be greatly appreciated. This has been my default/habitual Enter key.

Actually, I found the simplest answer... In Terminal Preferrences, Advanced Tab, I unchecked the box in the 'Input' options section: "Allow VT100 application keypad mode"

Now the keypad ENTER key is identical to the main keyboard ENTER key!

Simple and sweet, I found this when looking through the TMUX help information.

I didn't realize that the only place where the keypad ENTER was issuing "\EOM" was in my tmux sessions, since that is the default mode in my remote admin sessions. Thanks for the information above, but this was all I needed to do. I've I'd given more background people may have had better clues.

Run plutil -convert xml1 ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Terminal.plist.
Quit Terminal.

Edit the plist in a text editor:

Terminate the cfprefsd process from Activity Monitor.
Open Terminal.

Preference files are cached in 10.9, so if you edit a preference file directly, just quitting and reopening the application does not apply the changes. You can also run defaults read com.apple.Terminal instead of terminating cfprefsd.

MacOS – Characters do not echo in OS X terminal unless I hit the delete key

Your prompt is messed up, specifically PS1:

PS1=$[\033]0;37m]

that's missing a lot of escape characters (\e[) needed for the colors (and most useful parameters for a PS1). That's also why you get the 37m in the terminal window title. Try setting it to something different by running:

export PS1="\e[0;31m[\h:\W \u]\$\e[m "

and see if that works. It should give a red (thats \e[0;31m) prompt showing hostname (\h), current working directory (\W) and logged in user (\u) inside brackets [] and the bash exit status of the previous command (\$). Note that at the end the color is reset to the default of the session with \e[m .

If the above worked, you only have to find out from which configuration file your "bad" PS1 comes from: look for an "export PS1=" line in ~/.profile, ~/.bash_profile, ~/.bashrc, (as M K already suggested in his answer) and put in the above version.
