MacOS – VirtualBox 4.3.26 on OSX 10.10.2 Fails to install

I am trying to install VirtualBox on my iMac and it keeps failing right at the end of the installation process. The end of the log file shows

I have tried the installation several times after using the Uninstall tool included in the package but it keeps failing each time.

Tried Googling for an answer but don't seem to fin anything on this topic. Tried several different search terms.

Failed to unload org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxUSB - (libkern/kext) kext is in use or retained (cannot unload).

Your system already has the VirtualBox virtualization kernel extension installed and it is in use so it cannot be upgraded. Were you running VirtualBox previously? If yes, check to make sure all virtual machines have been stopped before upgrading.

Otherwise, the fastest route to ensure the kernel extension is no longer in use is to reboot your machine. After that it should install fine.
