I have a classic British Windows keyboard plugged into my Mac Mini. I'm sure I had it working but now it's not… I can choose between these two layouts but neither is correct:
My keyboard, like every other UK PC keyboard, has backslash to the left of Z, and nothing to the right of [ & ].
How can I reset this – reinitialise the keyboard?
It's a bug with Win7 as well. A bit of a show stopper for a developer...
If it's still a problem, then perhaps this can help:
I used Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4 to load the original 'Dansk (Apple)' layout, and alter the keys. It's pretty straight forward (load the keymap you want to alter, and when all done (remember shift+keys) click 'Project' => 'Build DLL and Setup Package'. Then install the new keyboard, and switch to it under 'Region and Language'). If it's fixed at some point you can just switch back to the original.
BTW: The keys will look like they are in the right spots in Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator, even though they aren't.

Those would be
Control+F4 - Move focus to the active (or next) window
Shift+Control+F4 - Move focus to the previously active window
If you have the "F keys as standard function keys" option disabled in System Preferences > Keyboard, enable it.
Or use Fn in addition to the above shortcuts.

Delete the keyboard prefs file at
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.keyboardtype.plist& reboot.That should allow you to try again with the setup.
The layout you're looking for [I think] is this one for British PC, which looks correct for my standard UK PC extended keyboard.
