MacOS – Spotlight does not show contents from internet!

Spotlight does not show contents from the internet. It only searches my mac HD.
What should I do?

I am using MacBookPro Retina 13" with Yosemite 10.10.3

For 10.13 only sixteen countries have this feature - http://www.apple.com/osx/feature-availability/#spotlight-suggestions

I mean your country might not be in the list yet, I'm facing the same issue

The problem is some folders are intentionally left out from the global spotlight search on the menubar.

For example, /Library and /Users/*/Library, one of the ways to search in these directories is to navigate to these directory in Finder, and search in the Spotlight field in the upper-right corner.

Mac – Does Spotlight normally index links in ~/Applications

It's actually a symlink and not an alias. Spotlight indexes symlinks to files that are treated as system files, but it doesn't show them in the GUI. It does show aliases though, so you could just command-option-drag /usr/local/Cellar/macvim/*/MacVim.app to /Applications from Finder.

Or convert the symlinks to aliases:

brew linkapps; find ~/Applications -type l | while read f; do osascript -e "tell app \"Finder\" to make new alias file at POSIX file \"/Applications\" to POSIX file \"$(/usr/bin/stat -f%Y "$f")\""; rm "$f"; done

Or if you use Alfred, it can be set to include applications in /usr/local/Cellar in the default search results.
