After installing both Yosemite and the new iWork suite updates (Pages 5.5 and Keynote 6.5), I've noticed I can't 'Show Package Contents' in order to access/modify the media associated with these files.
Does anybody know how to get in to these seemingly new formats?
Doesn't seem like a simple unarchive, either…
This feature isn't supported by Pages '09. If you want to do this you'll have to switch word processing programs or manually create your Master Table of Contents.
Each table of contents (TOC) you create using a Word Processing template lists only the content that follows it, up until the next table of contents. If you want a master table of contents for the entire document, it must be the only table of contents, and it must be at the beginning of the document.

The tool keynote-to-text gives a textual representation of a .key file. You can register it as the text converter for a Keynote file by adding to .gitconfig:
[diff "keynote"]
binary = true
textconv = /PATH/TO/KEYNOTE/keynote-to-text
And .gitattributes:
*.key diff=keynote
Then git diff provides useful output:

I've managed to expand the file by using the system (or any other) archive utility.
Here's how I got into the file:
.key,.pages, or.numbersdocument.zip.zipfile to produce a folder.keyor.pagesor.numbers
