My teacher doesn't believe that I did my homework, just because I did like 95% of it.
So he thinks that I did it this morning and I want to prove to him that I did in fact do it last night @ 6 pm.
In other words, I would like to know how to check when a TextEdit document was created on Mac.
I am running El Capitan.

Account type: imap
Incoming mail server: mail.me.com
Outgoing mail server: smtp.me.com
User name: (_ _ _ _ _)@me.com (don't put in @me.com though)
Tick require logon using SPA
on advanced tab:
outgoing server tab
my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication: tick this
use same settings as my incoming mail server: click this
Advanced tab
Incoming server (IMAP): 993
Use following type of encrypted connection: SSL
Outgoing server (SMTP): 587
Use following type of encrypted connection: TLS
So far my account is still working but have not upgraded to iOS5 or iCloud yet as waiting for update to another program that I use to bypass iTunes for music importing.
According to me, the best way to resolve this, is to go to System Preferences -> General. Make sure "Ask to keep changes when closing documents" is selected.
This will prevent accidental changes in PDF files, as well as other files when opened by other apps.

Set your Finder window to List View, then right click in the header bar where it says Name, Date Modified etc & check Date Created
