When Safari window is in Full Screen mode there's a combination option+command+N to open a new window (not a tab!). But on my MacBookPro2020 it doesn't work sometimes. I can't figure out when it would work and when not and why there is such a problem. Is it just a bug or I'm going something wrong?
P.S.: I have this problem for several months. I reloaded my MacBook during this period lots of times and I still bump into it.
There are three solutions I've found. The first two are the easiest and least intrusive, the third one should be tried last as it will remove all saved passwords for other websites too (but the third seems to have worked the most times for other people)
Locate and delete the entry for Gmail that is set to 'Passwords Never Saved':
open Keychain Access (in Utilities), then look in the login keychain and find the site you tried to visit. Somewhere in the list, you'll see an entry like this:
www.somesite.com (Passwords not saved)Simply delete that item from the login keychain, restart Safari, and Safari will prompt you to save usernames and passwords when logging in to that site. The easiest way to find it in Keychain Access is to search for it using part of the website's URL as your search term.
- Open Safari
- Click Safari > Reset safari
- Tick
Remove saved names & passwords- Click Reset Safari
- Quit, Repoen and load Gmail
Click the minimize/maximize button a second time or press Control-Command-F simultaneously. The button can be green or grey depending on how you have configured the appearance under the General pane of System Preferences.
To resize window, simply double-click window bar.
The best way to do this that I have found is to put the cursor in the upper left hand corner and wait a second. The green button reappears (you also get the top bar back in case you want to do other things than change the view.) and you can click on it to get back to normal view.

When the shortcut doesn't work, do this:
File menu > New window.
Then onwards, alt+command+N will start working.
