MacOS – OSX Mavericks – Enabling Custom DHCP Options

I am using a new MAC running OSX Mavericks with a solaris ISC DHCPD server.

I have setup some additional options on the DHCPD server but it is my understanding that most DHCP clients don't request all DHCP Options.

I'm trying to ascertain how I configure OSX to send a DHCP request that includes these additional options.

My overall goal here is to issue option 26 which stipulates an MTU size.

Yes. In Lion, you do this by:

Creating a .conf file that contains your custom Apache configuration directives
Creating a .plist file in /etc/apache2/webapps that references your configuration file — see the manage for webapp.plist
Running webappctl to load your configuration file into one or more of your websites (virtual hosts) — see the manage for webappctl

Root login over SSH is not enabled by default for good reason. Since you are not connecting remotely in your example, I recommend:

sudo su

to switch to root user if you need to run several commands in a row. This keeps you from needing to do the much safer

sudo commandname

where you need to prefix every command with sudo. If ssh is a requirement, you can simply:

ssh user@host

and then

sudo su

to switch to root user. This is a much safer approach from a security standpoint.
