I'm using Magic Keyboard 2 with numeric keypad. The problem I have is that when I use English US as input source, the dot on the numpad results in " . "
Where I'd need it to type a comma (as in, e.g., German language). I need comma, because I live in Europe, and the number separator for decimals is "," and not a ".". And all calculations are made with comma.
In macOS Sierra, you have to Ctrl+Shift+, in numeric pad to obtain a regular dot.
Found this trying to do the same as everyone else and discovered it was different now.

UPDATE: in macOS Mojave, you can also use Ctrl+Alt+, in numeric pad to obtain a regular dot. I found some apps (I'm looking at you Slack) don't allow the original answer, but do the update.
On the standard Chinese Simplified - Pinyin keyboard on the iPad, if you hold down a letter key for about 1 second, it will popup a panel with the 4 diacritics for that letter, letting you pick between them.
If you type pinyin with diacritic marks, it will not transform the pinyin into actual Chinese characters.

System Preferences- Language and Region- at the bottom of the box click "Advanced"- then choose the dot/ comma under Number separators- Decimal and again under drop down box "decimal" under currency.
