My daughter's Macbook Air does not show a Cursor, although ⌘+Tab shows it.

I've had this happen too. Solutions that occasionally work:
- Close the lid, wait for the 'sleeping' light pulses from the front of the laptop, then reopen and try again.
- Type my password (I have password protected sleep/screensaver) and hit enter blind.
- Wait a few minutes
- Sleep the computer by hitting the power button once (not holding it down), then waking it up.
- Swearing profusely
Solutions that almost always work:
- Force rebooting.
I don't know of a program that works system-wide, but if you use the terminal moderately, iterm2 has this feature. Pressing Command-/ once will show the cursor with some screen fade, and pressing and holding it will white out everything on screen but the cursor.
Alternatively, not the same as fading, but there might be a way to have your text editor highlight vertical and horizontal columns. (Here's a plugin for sublime).

Try following troubleshooting steps:
1 - Start in Safe mode (reboot, hold shift right after the startup chime)
if cursor shows then it is a 3party software
2 - Log in as other user (Guest)
if cursor shows it is your (daughters) user profile that needs fixing
If none of above worked, it is your Trackpad app that needs fixing.
