Mac Display – Why Does Keyboard Shortcut Flash My Display?

If I press the keyboard shorcut Cmd-Opt-Shft-Ctrl-W from any app it seems to flash my entire display. I believe this started with Catalaina but I could be wrong.

I thought at first it was Keyboard Maestro doing it but the shortcut flashes my display even when Keyboard Maestro is not loaded.

Any ideas what Cmd-Opt-Shft-Ctrl-W does and why it flashes the screen?

... that particular keyboard shortcut, command+option+control+shift+w, triggers something in OS X (possibly Catalina only; I don't have an older OS to test against) that starts the wifi logging.

So please check your /private/var/tmp.

I did not find an answer to the base question, but I did locate a sufficiently good workaround. Karabiner offers finer-grained control of keys than OSX's keyboard settings, including the ability to add exceptions to key switching. I used these settings:

Karabiner -> Change Key
    Change Command_L Key -> Command_L to Control_L (except Virtual Machine, RDC)
    Change Control_L Key -> Control_L to Command_L (except Virtual Machine, RDC)

Now all of the Ctrl keyboard shortcuts I am accustomed to work in both OSX and my VMs.

MacOS – In Mail, Cmd-Opt-Ctrl-F does something unexpected

In Mavericks Mail:

The shortcut for Flag is shift- cmd - L to assign the Urgent Flag.

There is no Cmd-Opt-Ctrl-F in my Mail app.

However, if you try to add that shortcut in keyboard shortcut it will alert you if that short cut is used by someone else and show you by whom.
