MacOS – How to uninstall imagemagick from Mac OS X

I have ImageMagick installed on my Mac. I manually installed it and the dependencies.

However, it is causing some problems with brew doctor, so I would like to just uninstall it. After uninstalling it, I will:

brew install imagemagick

I am not sure how to uninstall it, so any help getting me started in the right direction would be great!

I have decided to abandon this for now. I will be leaving it as is, and using homebrew to install it when I upgrade to Lion. Thanks.

Please try brew remove imagemagick

Sorry my bad ;) If you manually installed it, goto the root directory where you downloaded the sourcecode and try sudo make uninstall. If you already deleted the install files, redownload the source file and untar it. Then you can cd to the source dir. and use sudo make uninstall to uninstall.

Look in your home directory ('cd ~' to get there, 'ls -a' to look) for a .bash_profile or .bashrc file.

If you find one of them, open it up and you should see a line like this:

export PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH

Cut the "/usr/bin:" and paste it after the "/usr/local/bin:"

If you don't find either of those files, create one called .bash_profile and put this line inside:

export PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH

Try this to fix the osxlibfuse warnings: https://gist.github.com/trinitronx/5437061

It should be compatible with Truecrypt which needs osxlibfuse. If you have another program that needs them (doubtful) then this fix might mess it up.
