How do you increase the font size in the Mac App Store? I have just gotten a new Apple Cinema Display and I'm getting used to the higher resolution. I like it and don't wish to lower it. I have just been increasing the font size etc. wherever I can. The only place where I've found it to be a real issue is in the Mac App Store.

This is going to be your experience with Single User mode until Apple rewrites the underlying code to allow it to understand what retina is.

It seems that there is are others that report a problem with font rendering in the iBooks app when using epub files under OS X Mavericks (10.9.x). As in your experience, the problem seems isolated to Macs that don't have a Retina Display, such as your Mac Pro.
The solution is fortunately a simple one: Go to
System Preferences > General
and uncheck the box that says Use LCD font smoothing when available.
This should clear up the jagged text you've been experiencing in iBooks on your Mac Pro.
(Note: You may need to quit and restart iBooks and/or restart your Mac for these changes to take effect.)

Having just checked all prefs that I thought might have an effect on this, the only option I found was in the "Seeing" tab in Universal in System Preferences. There, you have a Keyboard shortcut available to turn on/off Zoom.
Sorry, but that is the best answer I can give you. Perhaps others will chime in with something better.
