OS X has built in support for many Emacs-like keyboard shortcuts: for example, Control–A moves the cursor to the beginning of the paragraph and Control–E moves the cursor to the end. How can I configure these shortcuts and add more of them?

To disable the Control-Command-D binding enter the following in the terminal:
defaults write com.apple.symbolichotkeys AppleSymbolicHotKeys -dict-add 70 '<dict><key>enabled</key><false/></dict>'
and restart.
In general, you can edit, create and enable/disable keyboard shortcuts using the Keyboard Shortcuts tab of the Keyboard preferences pane.
