I have a mid 2013 Macbook Air and I want to purchase two 4k monitors and hook it up to the MBA. Will my Macbook Air be able to hand the two monitors at it's full resolution?
If so, what cables would I need? If not, are there any macbook's that can handle dual 4k monitor at their native resolutions?
Sidecar is a nice product for windows and they have a Mac version, but seems outdated (and in fact I found the Mac version via Google, not through their product page). You might want to contact them in case they have something not shown there.
In any case, the graphic card (and CPU power) in the MBAir will have a “hard” time driving “two large monitors”.
If you still want to try, this guy over here is using not two, but three displays (plus the macbook’s display) for a total of four. He has a Macbook Pro tho.
He basically tried the Matrox solution and didn’t like it for various reasons he outlines in the post, so he tried the Diamond BVU195 USB-DVI adapter (he brought two).
Go ahead and read his post, he posts his impressions, problems and even links where to buy the things and their prices. You will surely need a couple of USB Hubs for that.

You can hook up two external monitors by using the thunderbolt port that support daisy chaining. You connect the the first screen with your Macbook air and connect the second screen with the first screen.
According to the following KB-article the following models support up to 2 displays through one thunderbolt port.
It's not possible to connect 2 monitors simultaneously through one hdmi port.
Arstechnica also has an article about the support of multiple external monitors through one thunderbolt port. Apparently the older Macbook airs only support one external screen due to limitations in the thunderbolt host controller.
