I have a MacBook and set up FaceTime with an Apple ID, email only.
I can call from the MacBook FaceTime to another iPhone FaceTime user.
However, the iPhone FaceTime cannot make call the to MacBook's FaceTime, as the video icon is dimmed.
Is email-only FaceTime a/c not good for receiving video calls?
You can add another email address for FaceTime in your iPad:
This will allow you to call your iPad uniquely with this id.
Similarly, you can add another email address to your MacBook Pro's Facetime:
Just ignore it and do not reply. It will stop eventually.
You might want to make your Facetime profile private, and consider changing your password just in case.
You might be targeted by a spammer.
Check you settings in Facetime:

You need to add your email account in your Macbook's FaceTime app and then get it verified from the verification email that you will receive.
