MacBook – “No connected camera” on MacBook Pro High Sierra

MacBook Pro Retina mid 2012. The error "No connected camera" could be "solved" by "sudo killall VDCAssistant" years ago.

Today the error comes again but VDCAssistant cannot be killed. I have restarted the MBP several times but no luck.

The camera works if I login High Sierra with another (admin) account.

Question: how to make it work for my daily account?

Sounds like a conflict with something that is running in your personal account.

Try logging into your account holding down the shift key. Hold it until everything has settled, it can take a minute or two. This will prevent login apps from running.

See if the problem remains.

Try following in your Terminal:

Manually connect to WiFi

Turn On

networksetup -setairportpower en0 on

Find

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Versions/A/Resources/airport scan

Connect

networksetup -setairportnetwork en0 WIFI_SSID_I_WANT_TO_JOIN WIFI_PASSWORD

It also shows it is using your Samsung as network provider, so turn it off first then check again if wifi comes on.

The message you're getting confirms that you have SIP disabled as you can see that all the individual items are disabled.

The reason you're getting this sort of confusing message is that you've just re-installed El Capitan. It's the message format that was used in El Capitan 10.11.0 and 10.11.1. Apple changed this with the release of El Capitan 10.11.2 so that the message was clearer.
