MacBook Pro SSD Upgrade – Does an M.2 2280 SSD Fit in a 2014 Retina Model?

macbook prossdupgrade

I have a standard 256GB SSD right now. I would like to upgrade that to a 512GB or higher. When I was looking around I found this SAMSUNG 950 PRO 512 GB SSD that has a huge performance in write and read speed.

This SAMSUNG 950 PRO 512 GB has a M.2 2280 connection.
Is it possible to fit this inside my Macbook?

You can upgrade using the SSD models available from OWC.

They have the 480 GB Aura SSD and 1 TB Aura SSD which will allow you to upgrade to a larger size disk.

The actual upgrade process is quite easy. You'll have to remove the screws from the back of the laptop taking off the back. Then remote the single screw that keeps the SSD seated and mounted to the logic board, and it is easy to replace.

You can find the SSDs here:
