I want to animate a block to be wider, but not higher.

The scale animation seems to work only with locked ratio and can't figure out how to do it.
If each section of the pyramid is a separate object then this shouldn't be too difficult to do via the inspector. All you need to do is select each object one at a time and add an entrance effect to it. Then in the animation tab of the inspector you can click on "More Options" (in the same place that the "Close Drawer" button is in the screenshot below) and a drawer will slide out that allows you to change the sequence of animations (by dragging and dropping). Here's a screenshot of a simple sequence involving three objects.
It is also possible to control the animation of text boxes in a similar fashion (since they can be selected as individual objects). Additionally one can also set bulleted text to come in one bullet at a time with the following settings:
So instead of setting the "Delivery" occur "All at Once," change it to "By Paragraph."
With CrazyTalk7 you can output your creations as videos or images in different sizes, resolutions and file formats. You can convert your work to an AVI file in DVD, HD, iPad and iPhone quality. You may also convert it into sequenced image (BMP/JPG/TGA/PNG) files to broadcast on a web server.
If you wish to import a photo or movie into Keynote the most convenient way to do it is by dragging the file directly into Keynote. Just drop it onto you slide.
You can also import media by choosing Insert > Choose from the top menu.

One way to accomplish this is with the Magic Move animation. However this will require an additional slide. Duplicating the slides including their content will not give the appearance of a slide change, only items that are moved or changed will appear to animate, not the slide itself. See animation below.
