I have an odd problem. I got an iphone5 and of course, I want all my contacts from my nokia into my iphone, I imported the contacts into outlook, then exported to an csv file, then imported to gmail and it worked perfectly until that point. When I imported the gmail contacts to my iphone, all the names were there, but barely any mobile numbers. However, in my gmail profile everythings seems to be ok, so I doubt that there is a field organisation problem.
If anyone has an idea, please help me, that thing is driving me crazy!

Have a look into SyncML, it was the only way i managed to get my contacts out of my decade old Nokia.
I'm not sure what the iPhone uses as a contact manager on Linux (Would MobileMe be a good workaround?), but once you've got them out, it's a lot easier to import them into something else.
Google Sync is also worth a look and would avoid your desktop altogether.
Use iTunes to sync and make sure you have your phone contacts in your MS-Exchange folder. Then you can either use the Google Apps migration tool or export them from outlook and into gmail.
Next you can remove the exchange account (which will probably delete you contacts).
Next you can uncheck the box in itunes that says "sync my contacts" so that they will all come off of your phone. Make sure you have them backed up first.
You can also uncheck the box to tell it not to sync the calendar if you like.
Next, you can add a Gmail account or google apps account - but when you do, don't click on Gmail for the account type - choose "Exchange" because it allows syncing of contacts and calendars, too.

I found out what was wrong. It seems the phone number types were the problem. They were classified as "Other". I changed them all to "Mobile" and it worked.
I hope this helps somebody, because I looked the problem up for hours and didn't find a solution.
