IPhone – How to stop auto music playing on Bluetooth connect

My mom got an iPhone 6s, and she LOVES it. There is one problem. When she connects to her car Bluetooth (the car is a 2012 Toyota Sienna LE), it automatically plays music, even without opening the music app. She tried Siri, opening and closing the music app, and turning off Bluetooth entirely. None of these work. So, is there a setting or a trick to stop music from playing automatically after she connects to Bluetooth?

I created a song called "AAA Silence" that fixes this problem at least for iPhones (by being 79 minutes of silence that should always be the first song alphabetically on your phone), and I put it on the iTunes Store and on CD Baby. I don't have an answer, but I have the identical problem with an iPhone 3G. The sync system will recognize USB for about a month and then start failing until it flat out won't recognize anything device that is inserted into the USB port. I've had the guys at the dealership look at it 3 times and each time they get it to start working again by upgrading the sync software or it just happens to start working.

Have you found a solution beyond using Bluetooth? I can't even charge my phone anymore through the port.

Howto disable A2DP on the iPhone

The interesting directory is /var/mobile/Library/Preferences, where the iPhone stores the BlueTooth settings. These settings are stored in the PLIST format, so you need a PLIST editor (Mac or PC) or you need to convert them by hand. Transfer the com.apple.MobileBluetooth.services.plist to your computer or you can use iFile to edit the file on your iPhone directly.

Open the com.apple.MobileBluetooth.services.plist in your PLIST editor and make sure you edit the A2DPService section and store the devices you don’t want to use A2DP in the UnauthorizeList (without the letter “d”). This dictionary will probably not exist yet, so you need to add it by hand. You need to know the MAC address, but it is probably listed already in this file.
