I'm using FiLMiC to record a 30 minute video.
In FiLMiC, I turn the flashlight on and hit the record button.
(the iPhone has is the power cord connected).
After about 20 minutes the flashlight just turned itself off!
Is this some overheating issue? I can't find any documentation to suggest that it is. It's very annoying!
Plugging a phone into a computer or power source via the usb cable will power it on, even if it is off – your phone is in need of repair or replacement.
I've seen the apple logo appearing for a few seconds and then phone dying several times with dead phones. I've fixed countless phones, but I don't have a concrete answer for this problem other than it being related to the motherboard in your phone and the solution is a replacement (replacement part more than value of the phone)
You can restore your device by putting it in Recovery Mode first. This will restore your device regardless of settings on the device, including Find my iPhone.
Hold Home as you connect the USB cable until you see the following screen:
You should see the following message in iTunes:
iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.
Restore the device in iTunes.
