IPhone – Clock app alarms are stopping recordings

iphonesoftware-recommendation

I just found out from Apple techs that the clock alarm is supposed to stop all activities, such as making recordings, playing apps, etc. when the alarm goes off. Who else finds this ridiculous? I've had important recordings (work audio recordings, and my daughter playing music during a show, for example) get borked just because I forgot to turn off a not-so-important alarm. Ugh! Why should this behavior be normal? Why can't there just be a visual pop-up overlay with no sound when I'm in the middle of something? This should be normal.

Anyway, does anyone have a good recommendation for a replacement clock/alarm clock app that is basic and has customizable and non-intrusive settings for the notifications/alarms?

Thanks in advance.

Only if you set it up to do so.

The TIMER (not the Alarms) in the built-in Clock app on your iPhone and has a feature called Stop Playing, which will automatically turn off any music, movie, TV show, or video clip that is currently playing. It's perfect for setting your entertainment to turn off at a specific time.

Launch the Clock app on your iPhone. You can also access it from Control Center.

Tap Timer in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Select a length of time.

Tap When Timer Ends.

Scroll to the bottom and tap Stop Playing.

Tap Set in the upper right corner of the screen.

timer

You can set it back to "normal" not intrusive just a beep sound.

Or you can go completely silent with this app

The choice is yours, but do not confuse the Alarms with Timer.
