I have an iPhone 6s. I want to put birthdays in my contacts however I don't want them to show up in my calendar. I've tried everything to stop it but nothing short of taking the birthdays out of my contacts works!

When the device is plugged into iTunes, look under the info tab, you will see an option to sync calendars, you can turn this off by unchecking the sync calendars box.
There is no way to make Siri stop seeing the Birthday calendar, even if you disable it in the Calendar app. You can always write feedback to Apple or file a bug report (free developer account required).
