There was a post on reddit about tracks sorting within an playlist in Apple Music app for iOS but it seems this method doesn't work anymore (at least for me).
When I delete or add songs to playlists using iTunes, yes, it automatically syncs with my iPhone (Apple Music app) but sorting seems to be ignored, whichever sorting/order I set in iTunes it doesn't reflect in Apple Music app.
How can I solve this problem?
I just want to sort my track by release date
The song name, album name and length are used for recognition by Gracenote - which means when you changed and added the song details manually, it was recognised.
As far as I know, the same details are used for Genius, so anything that Gracenote recognises will work - and the playlists are made on Apple servers.
I can make my iTunes show something similar, if I set some of the tracks in an album to a different Disk Number compared to the rest.
Try selecting one of the out-of-order tracks, then use File > Get Info to open the window I've shown here. Is there anything different about the information for the out-of-order tracks?

I found the way (but still you need iTunes to set order on your iOS device).
