In iOS 8 Safari, when it autocompletes a url one begins to type, it would be useful if we could move the cursor to the end of the autocompleted url so we can append more path and file info.

Is it possible to append an autocompleted URL in Safari for iPhone ?

Backspace will return you to the point you were last typing.

Tap/hold will turn the autocomplete into 'real' text you can then edit - but you can't fill from halfway down the potential URL, it becomes a new full text string that you need to work with, as though you'd already typed it all.

So, for instance, typing app will turn into apple.com Tap/hold will 'freeze' that allowing you to then complete apple.com by typing /knowledgebase but if you wanted apple.net you would first have to delete the com before continuing.

HTTP Header: Content-Disposition

Have the server include an additional Content-Disposition header when serving the PDFs:

Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="<MyPDF.pdf>"

MIME Type

Additionally, make sure the server's PDF mime type in the Content-Type: header is set correctly. There are variations in use. application/pdf is the recommended type.

The standard MIME type is application/pdf. The assignment is defined in RFC 3778, The application/pdf Media Type, referenced from the MIME Media Types registry.

Test with `curl`

Use curl -I http://example.com/mypdf.pdf to test and ensure the correct headers are returned by your server. curl can provide credentials to work as a logged in user.

IOS – iPhone: copy–paste of URL not working

I tested and can't reproduce this (though I'm not trying to paste into Twitter, your issue sounds like the initial copy command is failing, so from that perspective it is working for me), but an easier workaround for sending to Twitter is selecting Copy on the bottom row of the share sheet (which copies the URL, though in a slightly different format), then pasting into Twitter.
