I have a rather large Pages document that has many sections.
I need to break each of those sections out into their own Pages documents.
I am using Pages 5.5.3.
Can this be done easily? Right now I'm in cut and paste mode.

It appears that while a Layout Break has the option to start a new page or not start a new page,
a Section Break always starts a new page. Thus, the header at the top of the page is always from the same section as the footer at the bottom of the page.
In later iWork edition Apple made changes to the formats so this is the cause that you can not follow the procedure described in the article that you are referring.
The best way to go around this annoyance would be:
- Open the pages document with your current pages (I assume is the latest Pages),
- Save us some other name but before you do it extend the save us menu using the up/down arrow where you are presented with more choices,
- Select the radio button "Save copy as:" and choose iWork'08 and then save it.
- Go find your new saved document and you are now presented with the "Show package content" additional menu item (on your right click).
- Extract the images (copy them somewhere else).

Although you could script this in AppleScript since Pages is scriptable, I've never had enough sections to make the time spent crafting a script worth the time needed to figure out the syntax.
I simply duplicate the document as many times as needed in finder, batch rename them using Finder.
If you had 64 sections, I would use a "binary search" approach.
I've never liked copy/paste since things get odd sometimes. Chopping out the unneeded parts always seems to work better for me, but your manual copy/paste method also will work.
